Rupali Ganguly’s stepdaughter makes account private after defamation case

After actor Rupali Ganguly filed a defamation case against her stepdaughter Esha Verma, the 26-year-old made her Instagram account private. Reports also suggest that Esha deleted the video where she allegedly defamed Rupali and her father, Ashwin K Verma. Rupali has sought Rs 50 crore compensation from Esha for the alleged defamation.
Hours after Esha posted a video allegedly ‘maligning’ Rupali and Ashwin’s character and personal life, the actor sent a legal notice to her stepdaughter. Subsequently, Esha’s Instagram account has been made private, and the video in question has reportedly been deleted.

In the video shared on November 10, Esha Verma spoke against her father and Rupali, calling them ‘true bullies’. Additionally, she blamed her father of being unsupportive, failing to protect her during her formative years and mocking her mental health struggles.

Following the same, on Monday, November 11, Rupali Ganguly’s lawyer, Sana Raees Khan, sent a notice, mentioning Ganguly underwent mental trauma because of which she had to seek medical assistance and that she was humiliated on set and lost professional opportunities.
It is also stated that Ganguly wanted to maintain a ‘dignified silence’ but was compelled to initiate the defamation notice because of how her and Ashwin Verma’s 11-year-old son was dragged.
Ganguly, through her lawyer, has claimed a compensation of Rs 50 crore, which her stepdaughter is liable to pay. She has also asked for an unconditional public apology immediately, failing which Ganguly has threatened legal measures.
Rupali and Ashwin Verma got married in 2013 and are parents to a 11-year-old boy, Rudransh.
